Following his studies at universities in Germany, Iceland, Denmark and Finland, Olaf Grunert began to work for German public broadcaster ZDF based in Mainz.

Beginning as a freelancer in the entertainment department, he soon became a full-time Commissioning Editor in the Classical Music and Theatre departments. In 1990, he became Deputy Head of Zentralredaktion Kultur, the programming unit of ZDF's culture and science department.
When the German-French Culture Channel ARTE was created, he became Senior Commissioning Editor of all the documentaries ZDF produces for ARTE. In 1998, he headed the department exclusively dedicated to theme nights, THEMA.

He has since been involved in an increasing number of international co-productions, mainly of European origin. Recently, some Spanish and Italian projects have been realized with the support of his department. In January 2005 he moved to ARTE Headquarters Strasbourg where he continued to work as head of Unité THEMA.

Mr. Starowicz began his career in newspaper journalism and joined the current affairs division of CBC Radio in 1970. Acclaimed for his reworking of As It Happens, he also created Sunday Morning, a three-hour weekend review. Mark Starowicz is currently Executive Director of Documentary Programming at CBC where recent projects include the four-part series China Rises. He is much in demand internationally as a writer and lecturer on the history and future of broadcast communications.

Caroline Behar heads the Department of Acquisitions and International Co-productions at state television channel France 5, a key player in documentary production within France. She has been a Commissioning Editor in the Department since 1997, developing numerous international co-production projects. This work takes her to programme markets and festivals worldwide in search of the best documentary films and proposals dealing with her preferred subjects: people, places and cultures from across the world, wildlife and the environment, science and technology. For many years Caroline has been building long-term relationships with producers and broadcasters overseas, and is now actively seeking to collaborate with producers in emerging markets. She is also currently developing cross-platform projects which exploit the potential of new technologies.

He joined RAI in 1986: two years later, he became a producer for Mixer in 1988, producing, directing and appearing on camera in dozens of segments (5' to 1h), on such different topics as Italian terrorism, US politics, domestic and international affairs, among many others. In 1994, he was the co-creator of the award-winning talk show Mixer Giovani, and later became the production supervisor (editorial and contractual) of the first 1,500 episodes of Un posto al sole. As Senior Executive Producer for NGCI, Stephen Hunter is responsible for executive producing some 100 hours of original programming per year - programming that goes across 164 countries worldwide. Stephen has played an instrumental role executive producing series such as Air Crash Investigation and I Didn't Know That and the Python Attack episode of Dangerous Encounters with Brady Barr. In edition to these editorial duties, Hunter also takes the lead in developing key series and specials for the channels.

Prior to joining NGCI, Hunter was Vice President of Production for Cineflix in Toronto, Canada. As Channel Director for SPIEGEL TV Geschichte + Wissen, a joint venture of SPIEGEL TV and Autentic, Johannes Everding oversees the brand development, programming strategies, on- and off-air communication, consumer and trade marketing and overall operations of the two pay-tv channels in Germany. The channels reach about 4.3 Million German speaking households. SPIEGEL Geschichte (History), launched in July 2009, focuses on German history in the 20th century and offers over 50 original hours of production per year. SPIEGEL TV Wissen (Knowledge) was launched in October 2011 aiming at a broad audience with intelligent entertainment and over 100 hours of original production per year. Before joining SPIEGEL TV in 2009, Johannes Everding was commissioning & acquisition editor for Discovery Networks Germany responsible for the factual portfolio including Discovery Channel, Discovery HD and Discovery Geschichte. From 2000 till 2005 Johannes Everding worked as line producer for feature films and script officer (development) for various production companies in Germany (Atlas Film, 2K Film etc.).
