📖 Iran’s military has been broken.
When the Headlines Read Like the Prophets.
Three thousand years ago, Asaph wrote a psalm. He listed the nations gathered against Israel and named the spirit behind them: shrewd — aram (עָרוּם) — the same Hebrew word used of the serpent in Genesis 3:1. Asaph was not writing geopolitics. He was writing prophecy. And in the spring of 2026, if you turn off the cable news pundits and read the wire reports straight, you will see Asaph’s list materializing in real time.
Not in a vague, allegorical way. In a specific, datable, headline-on-your-phone way.
This post is a status report on what I have been calling Ring One — the first of the Three Rings Conflict (Psalm 83 → Ezekiel 38 → Armageddon). I am going to do something here that not every prophetic teacher will do. I am going to tell you what is aligning, what is not yet fulfilled, and what to watch. The Bible is not a horoscope. It is a map. And maps are only useful if you read them honestly.
Let us read it honestly.

WHAT IS ALIGNING RIGHT NOW
Iran’s Leadership Has Been Decapitated
On February 28, 2026, in the joint operation the United States codenamed Epic Fury, Israeli and American strikes killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and approximately 3,400 other Iranians, hitting nuclear facilities at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. A conditional ceasefire was announced April 8, mediated by Pakistan. Khamenei’s son Mojtaba is now appearing on Tehran billboards as the new Supreme Leader — the first leadership succession in Iran since 1989.
Read what the prophet wrote:
“Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might” — Jeremiah 49:35
Elam is the ancient region of southwestern Iran. The bow has been broken. Not the body of the nation — the bow. The instrument of warfare. The leadership.
Iran’s Economy Is in Freefall
This is the single most overlooked piece of the prophetic picture, and it deserves your attention. The IMF projects Iran’s economy will contract 6.1% in 2026 with 68.9% inflation. The rial has fallen to roughly 1.32 million per US dollar. Iran’s central bank had to issue the largest currency note in its history — the 10 million rial bill. The war eliminated 130,000 direct jobs and 600,000 indirect jobs. The IRGC, which processes about half of Iran’s oil exports, is being financially gutted by the U.S. naval blockade — costing Iran an estimated $500 million per day in lost oil revenue.
This is exactly what I have been teaching: Iran reduced, not destroyed. Persia must survive Ring One because Ezekiel 38 names “Persia” in the invading coalition that gathers against Israel later. No Persia, no Gog-Magog. But a humiliated Persia, stripped of its proxies and its wealth, isolated and desperate — that is precisely the Persia that will knock on Russia’s door. The hook in the jaw is being formed by the very economic vise we are watching tighten.
Hezbollah Is Broken
Asaph wrote in Psalm 83:7: “Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.” Of all the enemies in the psalm, only one pair is joined by the word “with.” Philistia is Gaza — Hamas. The inhabitants of Tyre are Lebanon — Hezbollah. Asaph saw the alliance three thousand years ago.
In March 2026, after the Iran strikes, Hezbollah resumed firing on Israel. Israel responded with Operation Eternal Darkness — the largest set of strikes of the war, shattering Hezbollah command and control across South Lebanon, Beirut, and the Beqaa Valley. Over 2,600 killed in Lebanon. Roughly one million displaced — twenty percent of the country’s population. Hassan Nasrallah was already dead from 2024. Now the infrastructure he built is rubble.
Israel Is Actively Annexing Southern Lebanon
This is the piece many prophecy teachers are not discussing, and it is the most direct fulfillment of the peripheral prophecies of Ring One. Watch what the IDF is actually doing — not what the diplomats are saying.
“Then Israel shall take possession of his inheritance, says the Lord” — Jeremiah 49:2
The Israeli military has established a “Yellow Line” in southern Lebanon, just as it did in Gaza. The line extends up to and beyond the Litani River. The bridges on the Litani have been destroyed. Five Israeli divisions are deployed. Defense Minister Israel Katz has said openly that Israel will hold the territory until Hezbollah is gone.
This is not a temporary buffer. This is the biblical pattern of the conquering nation: when Israel wins wars, Israel takes land. Joshua did it. David and Solomon did it. 1967 did it. Ring One is doing it again — slowly, undramatically, while the world looks elsewhere.
Hamas Is Militarily Reduced
Disarmament has been refused, but operational capacity is broken. Netanyahu’s phrase is precise: Israel is “choking Hamas from all sides.” This is the slow working out of Obadiah 1:18 and Ezekiel 25:15–17 — the “old hatred,” the “house of Esau” reduced to stubble.
The Israeli Economy Is at War-Time Records
The “spoil” of Ezekiel 38:12 is forming visibly. The Tel Aviv 35 stock index is up roughly 20% year-to-date on top of a 51.6% rally in 2025. The shekel has gained nearly 7% against the U.S. dollar this year. In March 2026 alone, Wiz was acquired by Google for $32 billion and CyberArk by Palo Alto for $25 billion. The Bank of Israel still projects 3.8% growth for 2026 despite a multi-front war. A nation at war is becoming wealthier. That is a prophetic anomaly only the Bible explains.
The United States Is Repositioning Out of Europe
In the first days of May, the Pentagon announced the withdrawal of 5,000 American troops from Germany, with similar reductions planned for Italy and Spain. Whatever you think of the politics of it, understand the magnitude: the post-WWII security architecture is being restructured in real time. Old alliances are being recalibrated; new ones are being formed. Prophetic geography is fluid right now in a way it has not been in eighty years.
WHAT IS NOT YET FULFILLED
I want to be very clear here, because honesty is part of preaching. Not everything in the Ring One framework has happened. Some of the most striking peripheral prophecies are still future. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
Damascus is still standing. Isaiah 17:1 — “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap” — has not occurred. Yes, Assad fell in December 2024, but he fell to Syrian rebels, not the IDF, and Damascus the city is intact. The prophecy is unfulfilled.
Amman is intact. Jeremiah 49:2 still waits. Jordan has remained largely uninvolved in the current war.
Egypt has not collapsed. No Isaiah 19 civil war, no socioeconomic implosion, no “Egyptian against Egyptian.” Egypt remains stable.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque is still standing. No foundation stone has been laid for the Third Temple. The single greatest physical obstacle to Daniel 9:27 has not been removed.
Israel is not yet living in unwalled villages. Iron Dome, the Yellow Line in Lebanon, the Gaza buffer, the Litani security zone — all very much in place, and expanding. For Ezekiel 38:11 to activate, Israel must voluntarily drop its defenses. We are not there.
The current war is not a Psalm 83 coalition attack in the 1948/1967 pattern. This is an Israel-and-U.S. offensive against Iran, not an Arab confederacy attacking Israel. The template is partially activated, not fully.
Israel’s GDP per capita is roughly $69,120 (IMF 2026 estimate) — not yet at the $82,000 threshold that signals the wealth-spike that draws Ezekiel 38.
If you preach the parts that have happened as if everything has happened, you will lose your credibility the next time someone fact-checks you on their phone. Preach what is verifiable. The pattern is unmistakable on its own; do not gild it.
WHAT TO WATCH — THE LEADING INDICATORS
Some of the most important signs of the coming chapter are not in the headlines yet. They are in the back pages. Here is where I am keeping my eye in the weeks ahead:
The UAE quit OPEC effective May 1, 2026. Read that sentence again. The first major exit from OPEC in nearly six decades. The UAE has 4.8 million barrels per day of capacity and is openly aligning with the United States and Israel. This is a Sunni Gulf state breaking publicly with the cartel that includes Iran. It is precisely the “Dedan, flee, turn back, dwell in the depths” pattern of Jeremiah 49:8 working out in real time. The Sunni Gulf realignment that I have been teaching about for three years is no longer a forecast. It is policy.
A new Moscow–Ankara–Tehran axis. This is the diplomatic traffic to watch. A humiliated Iran, stripped of proxies, is exactly the Iran that will sit at Russia’s table as a junior partner. Add Erdogan’s Turkey — Togarmah of Ezekiel 38 — and the prophesied coalition begins to assemble. Watch the joint communiqués. Watch the arms deals. Watch the energy contracts.
Iranian leadership crisis. Mojtaba Khamenei on the billboards. The deputy foreign minister reportedly fled to Russia. The IRGC running operational warfare while the political class scrambles for legitimacy. Iran in 2026 is what you would expect of a regime that has had its head chopped off but is still standing.
Pakistan as the broker. A Sunni nuclear power mediating between the United States and a defeated Shia regime, opening six overland aid corridors into Iran for last-gasp humanitarian relief. The diplomatic pieces of the post-Ring One Middle East are being arranged in front of us.
The Strait of Hormuz blockade. Roughly 2,000 vessels affected. Ninety-five percent of toll-paying ships turned back. Oil above $100 per barrel. The IEA has called it the largest supply disruption in oil-market history. Energy is being weaponized — and energy is what funds prophecy on both sides.
Massive Sunni Gulf rearmament. On May 1, 2026, alone, the Trump administration fast-tracked over $8 billion in arms sales to Israel, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait. F-35s and F-15s are flowing to Israel. The Lebanese government formally banned Hezbollah’s military activity in March. The map is being redrawn.
Israeli defense-tech sector exploding. AI battlefield systems, drones, cybersecurity — all drawing record investment. Ezekiel 37:10 spoke of an “exceedingly great army.” That army is not just numerous now. It is intelligent, automated, and globally dominant in the very technologies that will define 21st-century warfare.
Iran economically gutted
Israel taking territory in southern Lebanon. The Sunni Gulf realigning openly toward Israel and the United States. Russia and China unwilling — or unable — to rescue Tehran. Pakistan brokering the peace. Mojtaba succeeding his father.
That is the post–Ring One Middle East taking shape in front of us, exactly the way the framework predicted it would. Damascus, Amman, Egypt, the Temple obstacle, and the “unwalled villages” are not yet fulfilled. We are not at the end. We are at the hinge point.
And here is what I want every reader to hear: the greater the prophetic moment, the greater the attack. The greater the testimony, the greater the resistance. That principle is true of nations, and it is true of you.
When Israel was reborn in 1948, every Psalm 83 nation came to wipe it out. When Jerusalem was restored in 1967, the same coalition came again. Now, at the closing of Ring One and the setup for Ring Two, we are seeing the same pattern — only this time, the IDF is not on the back foot. The IDF is the instrument of the close.
“So, I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army” — Ezekiel 37:10
Israel has fought, and Israel has become a nation. Israel fought again, and Israel got Jerusalem. Israel is fighting now, and the world is being reshaped. There is a blessing at the end of every fight — but you have to fight. That is true of the IDF. It is true of you.
